Joining Races for the First Time?
We want races to accessible to everyone in the clan. However, if you are completely new to races, we highly suggest that you play as either your team's 2nd Attacker or Collector. Playing as Main Attacker, Defender, and [especially] Healer requires knowledge of some advanced techniques.
Here are two simple guides for playing as the team's 2nd Attacker or Collector:

Weekly-Players
If you are a regular to races, we cannot overstate enough how much we appreciate your involvement. We update two logs for races that you can view HERE (interactive) and HERE (static). We only ask that you don't rage-quit races unless there is a major issue with a member of your team. We will discuss all issues in private, but we try our best to sort out mishaps with understanding and open-ears.

Hello and welcome to the Casual BA race tutorial. In this post we will examine what CBA races are and how they are organized should you wish to attend. We will not explain how to perform roles in a race setting. For information on how to race each role, see the 'Guides' section of these forums.
What are CBA Races?
Every Sunday at 7PM GMT, the barbarian assault community comes together for a friendly racing competition. Races are not only an event within the community, but also a tradition that extends back for years. Players of all abilities and ages are not only welcome to attend, but encouraged. Races are a time when old, new, casual players, leechers, and speeders can come together for fun. So come join us!
Races are usually hosted in world 365 or 523, but make sure to check the Casual BA clan chat for confirmation. Prior to the event starting, reminder announcements will be made within the clan chat and discord. The only two requirements to attend are: 1. You are willing to play at least 2 roles and 2. You are level 5 in those two roles.
Joining a Race
Once the race event is ready to start, make your way down to wave one in the chosen world. To avoid confusion, everyone should stand outside of wave one, leaving only the host to stand inside the wave. The host will then ask everyone to “DD” or “stand in a pile” in the NW corner to get a headcount. Anyone who wishes to spectate and not compete, must stand on the other side of the crates beside wave 2. After a few minutes of waiting for the late players to arrive, the host will then ask everyone to spread out. The host picks captains for teams based on the number of people in attendance.
Picking Teams
The captains will line up inside wave one. The first captain chooses one person to be on his or her team, and the picked person will stand behind the captain in wave one. The next captain then chooses a player for his/her team and so on and so forth until it is the last captain’s turn. The last captain will choose two players as the picking order reverses making the first captain last to choose his/her 2nd team member.
The captains continue to follow this serpentine draft until all teams have five players. If you were late for the head count, and the drafting has already begun, wait east of the crates until the teams are filled. If there are enough players left over after the draft, the non-drafted and late arrivals may form a “rebel” team to join the race.
Preparing Teams to Race
Once the teams have been formed, the captains will call out clan chats for their teams to join to discuss roles and strategies (for example: attackers determining which monsters they will kill, and whether or not the collector and defender will shoot red eggs on waves 2 and 3. The main attacker will then scroll each member of his or her team. Teams should adhere to solo-H formats throughout waves 1-10.
Once a player has been scrolled, they should stand in NE corner of wave 1 to signify that they are ready to play. The main attacker will stand at the ladder when the team is scrolled and ready to race. If a player needs to go AFK, he or she should stand away from the DD spot and/or ladder to signify that they aren’t ready.
Starting a Race
Once all teams are ready, the host will call out a code phrase for the scrollers to start the race. Once the phrase is spoken by the host, scrollers will climb down the ladder and the race is on! Each team will continue to finish every wave as quickly as possible until they complete the round. Once a team finishes and spawns at the ending lobby, they should quickly move to the hallway so that it is easier to see when each team finishes the race.
After the Race
Once every team has finished, everyone runs back to the outside of wave one where the host will announce the race results with each team’s respective times. The process starts all over until the host ends the event. Every CBA Sunday Race event will have 4 solo-healer races followed by one race where duo-healing is allowed and encouraged.
Thanks for reading and we hope to see you join us this Sunday!
