Hello my dear friends and fellow Barbarian Assault enthusiasts,
It has been a while since I’ve logged into RS or been in the clan chat, so I wanted to take a moment to say a few things. Some newer members probably don’t even know who I am! I want to apologize for and briefly explain my abrupt disappearance. I’ll also tell you a little bit about what I’ve been up to lately both with gaming and my real life. Finally, I’ll leave you with some (hopefully) touching and inspiring words until I perhaps return to RS some day. I’ll keep this somewhat short.
I’m the kind of person that fully envelopes himself in whatever it is that he’s doing. Sometimes, that means I spend most of my free time playing RuneScape, sometimes I play other games, and other times I focus more on cycling. For a majority of the last year, I spent my free time playing RS. At the time, that was truly what I wanted to do and what I enjoyed. However, like most people that play this game, my interest tends to come and go at times. One day I could be playing BA for 10 hours straight, and the next day I might not even want to look at Commander Connad. As of a few months ago it has been the latter and I’m sorry that I didn’t communicate this loss of interest to any of you.
So what have I been up to? In the gaming world, I’ve been playing a few different games. I got back into Dota 2 for about a month, then played a bit of Subnautica (which I highly recommend)! I recently downloaded Cities: Skylines where I’ve been designing and building my own cities. I’m not so good at it quite yet, but I think it’s going to be a lot of fun. In real life I’ve been focusing a little bit more on my physical fitness and meeting new people. These things, along with my sometimes-crazy work schedule and seeing my family, have kept me quite busy!
I don’t want anyone to think that I left Casual BA specifically, or that someone said or did something to make me unhappy with the clan or community. I have simply lost interest in playing RuneScape in general, and am putting more emphasis on other things in my life right now. All of the people that I’ve interacted with in the BA community have been so pleasant and you all put smiles on my faces every day that I played. This clan is really closer to a family than anything I’ve ever seen in video games. People in this clan are there for each other; can talk to, lean on, learn from, help, console, guide, and overall just be friends with each other. I hope you all appreciate that as much as I appreciate all of you.
In closing, I implore you all to continue doing whatever makes you happy. Happiness can come in many forms, and I hope you are able to identify what makes you happiest in your lives. Set goals and create a plan to accomplish those goals. Start small and don’t be afraid to ask for help!
