This is a trimmed down version of my leech coll guide found on the lba forums. The info here is what can be applied to colling of any type.
I'm going to start by saying this: the single most effective way to improve your colling if you don't have it is to get osbuddy. Unless it makes you lag significantly then you are better off with it than without it.
For non-leech rounds the ideal scroll order is aadch. This is because when the scroller vendors it delays spawns so you want someone who isn't vendoring/converting as scroller.
Calling
This is the first instance of osb being beneficial, however if you don't/can't use itthen downloading the adobe flash stopwatch that comes up as the first result when googling stopwatch works fine.
If you do have osb then searching "boost" in the settings and opening the options for the second result and turning "always on" to on gives you a looping 60 second timer in the top left.
Otherwise, do the same with whatever timer you're using. If you want a countdown that beeps when nearing call end, use this timer and start it a second or two before entering the wave.
If you don't want to use a timer, it is possible to tell when a wave is changing from penance movement, although if there aren't many out it isn't particularly consistent, just something to keep an eye on. You can also use the in game music for this.
Picking Up (and Destroying) Eggs
-The second and most important use of osb, the item overlay. I've had people tell me they don't use it because it's messy but given the option to set it to "press alt to toggle" this is a bad excuse. By simply choosing this setting you make collecting a lot easier and can put up a lot more reds due to no time wasted right clicking through piles.
-Knowing egg spawns is crucial if not using the item overlay and very helpful even if you do due to being able to abuse a couple of patterns or removing the need to go searching through the names of items to find eggs.
There are 3 possible egg spawns when a creature dies away from a wall (the centre tile is where the creature dies):
The observant among you may have already noticed this next point; when the call is red or blue, there are 2 spawns where a red egg or a blue egg spawn in the same spot while in the 3rd respective spawn there is no egg in that spot. This means that during a red or blue call, if you are waiting on kills then as you see a penance die, you can stand on the relevant spot and spam click to have a 2/3 chance of instantly picking up the correct egg and 1/3 chance to not pick up any egg, right or wrong. Although there is a spot where there is a 2/3 change for a green to spawn, there is also a 1/3 chance a red will spawn to spam clicking can lead to popping an egg, as a result it's better to just stand there and be ready for when the eggs spawn.
When a creature dies next to a wall it complicates things slightly as eggs don't appear as you might expect. What actually happens is that eggs that would spawn in a tile where there is an obstruction will actually spawn on the centre tile, where the creature died. This means if the creature dies next to the north wall then the 2/3 spot for reds is now the tile where the creature died, however there's only a 1/3 chance it's the top egg so don't spam click in this scenario.
-One small final point is that in a stack of eggs, the order that they appear in goes from oldest at the top to newest at the bottom, so if you are spam clicking on a stack of, say, 5 red eggs and a fighter is killed in a location where eggs may appear in that stack, you can keep spam clicking as you know the new egg will be at the very bottom of the pile.
