It is with a heavy heart that I must take my leave as Admin of CBA. I have been planning this for some time now. There are a number of reasons for my decision, but here are the main two:
1. I strongly believe that the clan and its leadership should reflect as closely as possible the community. While I don’t (by any means) consider myself distant from the BA community, I want to give to those who are newer than I am an opportunity to take on leadership roles. In my early years, I was lucky enough to be selected for the CBA Star Team by Jake/iTaste. From CBA’s inception, I have been here, moving up from Lieutenant to Admin. What a blessing it has been - this journey. But now comes the time to pay it forward to the newer guys and gals and give them a chance to lead, like I was given a chance.
2. I will be 30 years old next week. Over the past year, I have become much more active in my personal and professional life. I began playing RS again in late-2015 after I tore my ACL, as an escape from my physical frustrations. Time heals all wounds thankfully. As I have become more active again, I have found myself enjoying more traveling, hiking, coaching, running, working out, teaching, going out with friends and girlfriend, etc. I will always love BA and CBA, but I really believe that I must take full advantage of my time to be physically active, while I can. I have made wonderful friends here (some even life-long friends), but I am currently most happy going on trail runs with my Girls XC Team and watching them compete and grow as athletes. It is in this direction I find my heart taking me for the future, so I must follow.
It has been a wonderful run and I met so many new people and characters. Yes, there have been some difficult moments, but I’ve had the chance to do so many great things as Admin from: starting BA School, making CBA a playable account, re-working the ranking system, earning the Penance Pet on CBA, organizing/hosting numerous events, updating CBA’s rules, being voted ‘Best Admin’, etc. But ALL of those accomplishments would never have been possible without YOU, the community. In each accomplishment, I can always think of several people who helped to make it all possible. I want to specially thank Faardo, RDM, and Omen who have always been there for me as friends, leaders, and clan mates. You guys rock!
Moving forward, I will be filling into the “Retired Admin” (Silver Star) role. I will continue to host/log races as much as I can on Sundays and offer my advice to the current leaders of the clan for whatever direction they choose to go. I will still play BA from time to time, but I will be mostly doing what I want in OSRS when I play. My departure and other staff changes in the future have been planned out. We Admins want to continue to see the clan grow, but must respectfully pass on the project to the next generation when the time is right. My last day as Admin will be December 15th in order to give Hops some time to fill into his position. He’s the right man for the job and has my full confidence.
