Summer Kick-Off 2020 - Follow Up Post (3.5 Year Anniversary)

Thanks for coming to this year's summer kickoff and making it one of the biggest and most exciting! If you didn't make it, or just want to look back on the event, here's a recap of the whole thing.
Man Hunt
To kick off the Saturday events we held a classic game of Man Hunt. This time we saw a record breaking number of teams at 15, beating out the 3-year anniversary by 2!
Despite teams' best efforts, a couple of the locations offered clues that were too OP. So, some "encouragement" had to be given in the form of extra clues on discord. The rest of the locations saw great success in teams finding them, with all teams finding 4 of the spots! Impressive.
There was fierce competition this time around, with top 3 team placements shifting around seemingly every location. In the end all 3 top teams would dethrone the Sweaty Nerds, falling short in 4th place. Better luck next time. Congratulations to The Outlaws and Team A for taking 3rd and 2nd place, and qualifying for prizes. In first place with a commanding lead of 20 points, taking home the biggest prize was The Dutch Destroyers@@@@ Congratulations Run Down Mid , vrax , KuroKama , and @trueknight ! Following their victory, they celebrated by chucking their winnings in the duel arena and promptly losing it all. Nice.

PvM - Corporeal Beast
After a near victory for The Nightmare, votes for the Corporeal Beast just barely edged out a win on the last day. After Man Hunt, we set out to hunt corp in hopes of a prized sigil drop. We didn't get any sigils, but there were plenty of planks (@Omen ) to end the day.
The Day of BA - Tournament
Shout out to our amazing stream hosts Tasty , Hops , and ignoblesolid . Also a big thank you to our racer pov streamers Furret, buns , and chris .
As is tradition, Sunday is the day of BA. The first event of the day was the competitive BA tournament. In these races, 12 teams were divided into 2 groups on separate worlds. The top 2 teams from each world moved on while the rest battled it out in another race to secure 2 more spots in the semi-finals, for a total of 6 teams. From these, only 3 teams moved on to the grand finals and qualified for cash prizes. Congratulations Team Flunch, Team Thordain, and Team Scorchbeast on making it to the finals.
This time the grand finals had us on the edge of our seats. Two teams were very close to each other throughout the race. Going into wave 10, the two teams were perfectly tied, entering the wave on the same tick. However, Team Flunch managed to take the tournament in a swift 11:08 after a huge comeback from their 12:27 in race one, the slowest in their group. Congratulations flunch , stoup , Hops , Wbacon, and Lihai ren. Your victory is well won.

Awards & Promos
After the tournament we all headed back to wave 1 for the awards ceremony, where several awards are given out based on a community vote. Here are the results. During the awards we also had a video shout out from Zarpedon in the mountains of Colorado. Sorry you couldn't make it, but the view looked amazing!
Normally we do Mr. and Mrs. Casual BA awards for the person who gets the most total votes, and the person who is voted for on the most categories. However, this time we had something a little different happen...
At anniversary events, it's almost a guarantee that someone will be getting promoted into the star team. It's no different this time around, and we have a couple new additions to the team.
First, we completely surprised Killerak41 with a promotion to lieutenant, and he was lost for words.
Then, as a return to the star team after many months, we welcomed Static with a promotion back to lieutenant!
Finally, we welcomed our newest captain to the team with the promotion of Scorchbeast !
Gzzzzzzzzzzz!
Rounding out the successful event weekend was an absolutely massive drop party funded by the stars, where most people walked away with some great loot, including one lucky person leaving with a 3rd age bow. Share pls.
