Changes to Rule #5
Over the past few months we have gotten a lot of feedback, through surveys and complaints, in regards to Rule #5: Level 5 Requirement/Role Hogging. When asking you all if you thought there was an issue with role hogging, 50% said yes. We feel that percentage is entirely too high, we want everyone to be happy to join funs and not feel they are forced into doing a role because the other members have limited preferences (H/D only for example.) As of now, we are implementing the following change to Rule #5:
In order to hinder torso/diary hunters from joining funs and to encourage growth from our members in their gameplay: to join a team using the CC, a player must be willing to perform at least three roles and have Level 5s in those respective roles (main and 2nd attacker counting as separate roles). If two players are fighting for the same role, and cannot come to an agreement, the priority falls to the person who joined the team first. If someone is not Level 5 in the role s/he wishes to play, the player may still join, but only with the full consent of the other team members. Teams formed in World 6 outside of the CC are absolved of this rule.
We'd also like to remind you all that this is Casual BA and that everyone needs to be open to different skill levels playing in the same team. We don’t want members to be discouraged from trying a role because they don’t think they’re “good enough.” The only thing a main attacker needs to know is how to scroll and click a ladder, a healer doesn’t need to do OS, a collector doesn’t need to shoot reds on 2/3, etc etc. If you're wanting more advanced strats/speed runs, try the experienced-teamfinder channel or Speed BA.
For our higher ranks, be open to doing more beginner strats if you have a newer team, offer feedback if they are receptive to it, encourage them to keep playing. We are a small community and we need to support each other.
