I am honored to say that my most recent game with randoms has given me the insight into making the following post! While I know that many of you would prefer to not play with randoms, I know some may potentially benefit in the following scenario:
When you play a game with randoms, you run the risk that someone is planning to leave mid-run as soon as they finish their role, celebrating with an early torso! This tends to put everyone on the team in a sour mood. (In the following screenshots (spoilers), note the public chatbox)

In this situation, the protagonist of our story (Uh-Oh Lumby) plans to leave on waves 4-5, after getting enough Defender points. Fortunately, I was Healer on this team, so I could be around to save him from his character flaw before it was too late! He had also voiced his intentions in this story, prompting me to interject. This may not be the case in your stories, but it's relatively simple enough to identify a torso hunter by their play style. From there, offer advice as needed!

Instinctively, I first offered the suggestion to him to stick around, before I joined the team in the wave 1 room. The suggestion is backed by him using extra points to level his role. This is the point of this post. This wasn't enough, however (randoms tend to have a hard time understanding what you're trying to say).

It took more reason to get the message across, and here I offered the incentive to our protagonist: "Leveling your role now will give you a head start on your Elite diary, of which you'll eventually want to do."

Finally, I offered him some words of encouragement to motivate him to keep playing. In this case I was sincere; he was relatively decent for a level 1 defender hunting torso, though this may not be the case for everyone torso hunting. In the scenario where your protagonist has less knowledge of the game, try and offer suggestions mid-game to help him improve his play (refer to my "Pt. 1" thread for various beginner-friendly tips).

Given the words of encouragement + incentive to stay for a future accomplishment, our protagonist has decided to stay through to the end!
edit (this post kept getting too long that my browser would force to kill the page before post was finished)
tl;dr (noted from my previous post)
If you come across an individual who you suspect to be torso-hunting, offer incentives (including diaries, other penance gear, decent gambles), advice, and words of encouragement to get him to stay! As a torso hunter, they're most likely new to the game. If you show a positive, optimistic attitude, they'll (hopefully) take your advice!
Fun fact: This forum post name is in reference to Fairy Tale Pt. 2: Cure a Queen
