Note that west trap is not useful in real rounds. The west trap is useful when playing with artificial restrictions like no-east-trap or no-log+no-egg.

WEST TRAP GUIDE (COMPREHENSIVE)
I'm assuming you know runner mechanics: casualba.boards.net/thread/34/defender-guide-lhc
Red circle -> use Mainstack Down after the first multikill
HBlock -> Duo defender saves time
2tail -> Place 2 food on the Tail after the multikill as the runner will eat from the Tail since you place the Mainstack after repairing the trap instead of before (see wave 8-9 guide)
(everything explained below)
COLLECTOR
Be very tanky.
Wave 1-9: Stand east of runner spawn and afk. Call faster so flunch doesn't yell at you
Wave 10 collector guide: www.youtube.com/watch?v=9CJjxZTnPJc
Stand 1 north of the defender's food spot if the first runner is an eastie or westie. Stand 1 east if the runner is a southie. This blocks the runner while the defender places his food. Then, after the defender leaves, stand on the food spot
When the defender places food north and only AFTER the runners start walking toward that food, stand 1 west of the runners to 1-tick block
DEFENDER
Waves 1-9
Watch the video above at the same time as I describe what I'm doing.
If the collector blocks easties, all spawning runners will always see the Tail. Only the first runner might go east before the collector has time to block it. If the first runner is eastie, step onto the hammer and drop 1 food and the eastie will come in range of the Tail.
For solo defender, always start out by dropping 1 Bad then 1 Good food on the Tail. (If you accidentally stand 1 square too north it will also work [T ok]) The first runner will eat the Good before you have time to place your Mainstack.
There are two spots for the Mainstack. The Down position does not multikill, so use it on the waves circled with red when you have only 1 runner left to kill (i.e. after the first multikill). Use the Up position normally.
[The reason why we use the Up position and the Northeast corner of the trap as opposed to some other configuration is that putting the Mainstack and Trap on these particular squares allow for early westies to be multikilled 6 seconds earlier. An early westie will stop 1 square east of the Mainstack but will still have line-of-sight with the Trap, which is not the case for some other positions.]
Drop 2 Good on the Mainstack Up.
Drop the Head on the exact tile indicated. If you don't place it here, early westies will not see the Head and be unable to go to the Trap.
Drop some food on the Trap. Head back to the Mainstack. The first runner will have eaten one of the food, causing the 1st and 2nd runner to crash. You can use duo defenders on waves 1-4 to save 6-12 seconds per wave by preventing the crash by having the 2nd defender place only the Tail and then stand on Mainstack (1st defender: Mainstack/Head/Trap).
Stack the runners onto the Mainstack. This is similar to a "multi" in that you have to do it on a specific tick, or else they will eat the food and then wander randomly. You have a 2-tick window:
1) If the last runner was a southie or eastie, you need to block the runner 0-1 ticks before letting all the runners eat the food
2) If the last runner was a westie, you need to block the runner 4-5 ticks before letting all the runners eat the food
3) If you are timing your "stack" from a crashed runner, you need to be moving on the same tick that the runner takes its 2nd or 3rd step.
4) To save 6 seconds, when your last runner is a westie, instead of blocking it 4-5 ticks, you can do the same as 3) and move as it takes its 2nd or 3rd step. The westie will then flinch and reach 1 square east of the Mainstack.
5) If you have 2 runners (waves 1-3) and the two runners are south and south, the first runner crashes the second runner. If the second runner crashes east, the timing for the eastern crashed runner is blocking 2-3 ticks.
Once the runners are stacked on the Mainstack, they will preferably target the Mainstack or Tail, so you need to make sure there is to Mainstack food left and you need to pick up your Tail food. The runners will then target the Trap.
As soon as the runners target the Trap and start walking, you can replace 1 Good food onto the Tail, and then pick up a hammer and logs. Do NOT place the Mainstack until the runners start multikilling or else the runners will turn around and go back to the Mainstack instead of multikilling. Once the runners start multikilling, you can place 1 Good food onto the Mainstack. On waves 2, 4, 5, 7 and 10 (marked in red), as there is only 1 runner left, you should use Mainstack Down. On the other waves, use Mainstack Up.
Go repair the trap. Quickly run back to the mainstack in case the runner is a westie. Kill the reserve runners in a similar manner as the first runners. Note that if you use Mainstack down, after eating the Mainstack, the runner will wander 2 squares. You need to block it from wandering east more than 1 tile or else it won't see the Head.
It is recommended to get the attacker to force the first multikill to get an early reserve spawn. Runners chomp on tick 2, meaning you only need to force for (?) 4 ticks or so. You should also force the death of the last runner(s)
Waves 8-9
If you have a 1-2-1 call, you will run out of food unless you follow the exact instructions below.
Start out as normal, placing Bad-Good (BG) on Tail, GG on Mainstack, B on Head.
Unlike waves 6 and 7 where you place 6 food on the Trap, only place 5 food on the Trap. You need to save your last food in case of a 1-2-1 call.
Multikill the first 5 runners as normal. While the runners go to eat the Mainstack, on waves 2-7 you would usually pick up a hammer, place one Good on the Tail, get some logs and then place the Mainstack. You would then repair the trap. You cannot do this on Wave 8-9 as you will run out of food.
1) Pick up the hammer
2) Place TWO food on the Tail instead of one food as you did on the lower waves. Place the THIRD-CALL-FOOD (the food that hasn't been called yet) as the Bad food and place one Good food.
3) Pick up logs
4) Head directly to the trap and drop 2 (wave 8) or 4 (wave 9) Good food on the Trap ASAP before the 3rd call change. You need to use the 2nd call food or else you'll run out of food
5) Repair the trap
6) Run quickly back to the Mainstack Up and drop a Good food. Since you delayed placing the Mainstack, the runners might chomp one of the Tail food. If the call was 1-2-1 you will have used up your last Good food placing the Mainstack. If you have no Good food left, you made one of the following errors: a) Dropped 6 Trap at start. b) Dropped 1st-call-food onto the Tail after the first multikill
You can now kill the reserves normally.
Wave 10
Drop 1 Anyfood on the Toe. The collector should then stand on the Toe to block all the runners from eating this food.
Place one food on the Tail (Any), Mainstack Up (Good) and Head (Any). Drop 6 Good on the Trap.
Run back east and drop 1 Good on the Body. If the runners are not blocked by a player, they will automatically stack ontop of this tile.
The runner will prefer the Toe or Body food, so you have to pick up the Toe food. The runner will then target the Mainstack.
In order for the runners to eat the Mainstack and stack there, they need to be blocked by 1 tick. The easiest way is to get the collector to stand 1 tile west of the Body to 1-tick block.
Once the runners start walking toward the Mainstack, you can pick up the Tail as usual.
Once the runners start walking toward the Trap, you can go back and redrop your Toe and Tail. After the multikill, drop 1 Good on Mainstack Down. Head back east without repairing the trap.
Place the Body to once again bring the reserve runner to the west and repeat the same thing. After you pick up the Tail, run ahead to repair the trap before the runner makes it to the Trap.
If you are slow with wave 10, note that food despawns after 120 seconds, so your Trap and Head food might disappear and cause you to fail.
