On October 6th @7pm GMT CBA will be hosting a series of special BA races, each with their own theme (our PvM event will be moved weeks this month to accommodate for people's schedules).
1. BA Star Showdown - CBA vs. BAS vs. LBA
BAS and LBA Stars have graciously risen to CBA Star’s challenge to compete in one head-to-head-to-head race of Waves 1-10. Each clan will race one team with normal racing-condition rules. There must be at least one Admin per team. The winning clan of this race receives bragging rights over the other clans, until the next iteration of the race. Members of the community are welcome to observe the spectacle unfold and/or form their own teams as unattached competitors.
Team CBA Team BAS Team LBA
Congratulations to our CBA Star team on its win!
2. Evil Defender
The Evil Defender race mode requires a team’s defender to act as a intentional saboteur (i.e. building barriers, shooting blue eggs, allowing runners to pass through, etc.). We will form teams as we normally do for Sunday Races. Once teams are chosen, the host will randomly select a member of each team to be a saboteur Defender. The ‘Evil’ Defender should try to sabotage their team as much as possible so that their team finishes last. Whichever team finishes Waves 1-10 first will win a cash prize for their 4 normal players. Whichever team finishes Waves 1-10 last, that team’s Evil Defender will win a cash prize.
Caveat rules: the Evil Defender cannot logout, leave waves, or stall wave starts in order to sabotage, and must AFK/leech during Wave 10. All sabotage must be done through BA game mechanics.
Make sure you pick a patient Collector/Healer, and swap a teammate to second Defender on Wave 10 in order to kill the queen. You can assign one teammate to be a 'Good' Defender, if you so choose.
Congratulations to Halleluhwah, Zanuil, Rata, and Mintos for overcoming their Evil Defender!
Congratulations to Farter for being the most Evil Defender and losing his team the race!
3. Achilles vs. the Tortoise
(Achilles vs. the Tortoise is a famous paradox of Zeno of Elea. In the paradox Achilles challenges a Tortoise to a footrace of 100m. Achilles graciously offers the Tortoise a head start of 50m before starting the race himself. In the paradox, however, as soon as Achilles catches up to the Tortoise’s 50m head start, the Tortoise has moved on to a new spot farther ahead. Achilles now closes this smaller gap between him and the Tortoise, but as soon he closes this gap, the Tortoise has moved ahead again. Thus in the paradox, Achilles is never able to catch up to the Tortoise, since the Tortoise will always have moved an ever-reducing distance ahead from where it was before, despite what our commonsense of reality says in opposition.)
In this Achilles vs. the Tortoise race mode, we will pick teams as we normally do for Sunday Races. Once teams have been chosen and roles assigned, one team will be randomly selected by the host to be the Tortoise team. The Tortoise’s team’s healer must walk throughout all of Waves 1-10 - the Tortoise’s team’s healer must have their sprint turned-off. The Tortoise team cannot duo heal. Much like the paradox, the Tortoise team will be given a 4 Wave head start. When the Tortoise team begins Wave 5, that is the cue for the other teams (Achilles teams) to start in Wave 1. Normal race rules apply to the Achilles teams - Achilles teams’ healers may sprint. The object of the all teams is to finish Waves 1-10 first. If the Tortoise team wins, they will receive a large prize for each teammate; however, if an Achilles team wins, all Achilles teams and their members will receive a small prize and the Tortoise team will go home empty-handed.
Congratulations to Callybob, Oliver, Run Down Mid, Kahvo, and Woogletz for bringing glory to the Achilles teams!
4. Arrow Room Race FFA
The Arrow Room is a room across the hall from Wave 10. When passing through the portal to the room, the player is prompted, which role they would like to play OR if they are willing to play any role. Once 5 people have joined the room and there are enough people playing each role, the room will put players in the lowest-current wave of all players on the team.
For the Arrow Room Race FFA, a multiple of 5 people must be playing. All players must be on Wave 1. All players, before the race must wait outside the portal to the Arrow Room. When the host begins the race, all players must pass through the portal selecting ‘I’ll play any role’. Your game screen will display in the top right corner of the screen if someone picked a different option than ‘I’ll play any role’. If you notice anyone during the race cheating by picking a specific role, please inform a Star. They will be promptly DQ’d from the race. You will be assigned a random role and team in Wave 1. Complete Wave 1 as your role and with you team. When done, exit Wave 2, run back to the Arrow Room, pass through the portal selecting ‘I’ll play any role again’. You’ll be thrown into Wave 2 with another random team and role. Play the round and repeat the process of exiting and passing through the portal choosing ‘I’ll play any role’.
After completing Wave 10 (at this point, you’ll most likely have a group of people who are on you ‘team’), come up the ladder to the BA Bank. Find the CBA account and trade. The first racer to trade the CBA account after completing Waves 1-10 with the Arrow Room ‘I’ll play any role’ mechanics will receive a reward of coins.
Congratulations to Henke for winning the Arrow Run FFA!
